Submissions are now open for the forthcoming 2016 issues of Deer Bear Wolf Magazine

At DBW Press we like words and art that breath life, that stay in the conscious long after the pages have been turned. The concept doesn’t need to be about Atlanta, but the spirit and fight that lives here should be felt. Fiction and non-fiction are constructs of perception and we enjoy when what’s real and not bleeds around–circling the drain until it doesn’t matter anymore.

Poetry: Please submit no more than five poems at one time.

Prose: Should be no longer than 3,500 words. We also are into shorter and flash fiction. If you would like to send us something longer, send us an email about it first.

Photography and Visual Art: Please submit portfolios, images, or artist statements for consideration. All works will be considered, regardless of size, scale, or brevity. Collaborative works will also be considered; however, it must be indicated with submission. Professional photography will be provided with no charge for any non-photographic works selected.

Interview/Journalism: Pitch idea in a paragraph and submit two examples of previous work. No longer than 3,500 words. Subject must be about Atlanta arts, music, or lit scenes.

Essays: No longer than 3,500 words. We are interested in essays and non-fiction that pushes the boundaries of genre–using the techniques of fiction and poetry to tell a story. Don’t be afraid to get weird, strange, and honest.
