Vera Vera’s Jordan Parker is set to release the debut EP from his latest project, Mara, on Deer Bear Wolf Records. Parker wrote the songs on the Mara EP alone in his bedroom, channeling the dark vibes of Vera Vera into a more intimate and ethereal sound that he describes as “Phantom Pop” or “Garage Gaze.”

Twin Studies // Kate Tucker and the Sons of Sweden // Triathalon // Fake Flowers @ The Mammal Gallery

"get your dream pop on with these four luscious groups on a lovely november eve. Twin Studies- ATL dreampop// shoegaze "With their debut EP, Twin Studies have already established themselves as one of the more promising local artists to emerge in 2014. With a palette of dreamy, nostalgic sounds, they manage to carve out a memorable sonic experience in a mere four songs, which is a rare feat. // Fake Flowers- Atlanta, GA indie pop/dreampop "Fake Flowers plays lush, propulsive pop songs, combining elements of shoegaze, post-punk, emo, surf, and psychedelia. With guitars both fuzzy and jangly, a grooving rhythm section, and layers of dreamy vocal harmonies, the band could easily fall into late 80's/early 90's college-radio rotation, but emphatically and refreshingly retools the styles of its forebears."

ROAMtransmissions & Vouched Books Present: ROAM in the Ruins: A Communal Listening Experience for the End Times @ Big House On Ponce

"The Big House on Ponce proudly hosts ROAMtransmissions and Vouched books for a genre-fusing post-apocalyptic listening experience. This literary/sound installation will feature original works and recordings from eight different authors and will be played at The Big House’s backyard theater, which will be converted into a nuclear stronghold. Listeners will commune with fellow survivors as our readers’ pre-recorded and sonically enhanced performances are broadcast on continuous loops like a series of avant garde PSA’s. The airing will take place on Sunday, November 23, 2014 and will commence at 7 p.m. Those familiar with Orson Welles’s War of the Worlds broadcast or Cormac McCarthy’s The Road or Mad Max will know exactly what we’re going for. There will be radioactive cocktails and non-perishable noshables to complement the postapocalyptic ambience. Come usher in the end of the world and celebrate the debut of ROAM’s final release of 2014! Our literary/sound installation will also double as a canned food drive to help those in need during the holiday season."
