Deer Bear Wolf Weekly

Tomorrow (Tuesday, November 25), Deer Bear Wolf Records releases the self-titled debut EP from Mara, the solo project of Jordan Parker from Vera Vera.

"Jordan Parker doesn't quite sound like anyone else in Atlanta. The haunting timbre of the local singer/guitarist's voice has an almost Tom Waits smokiness to it. Whereas Waits sounds steeped in some otherworldly swamp, Parker's voice crackles like embers on a campfire and floats like a ghost trying to find its way home." - Creative Loafing

The Mara EP will be available on CD and a limited edition tape cassette. The Mara release show is tomorrow night (Nov 25) at 529. The show is free and features Highlander, Mara, E.T. Anderson, and Semicircle (featuring members of Reptar).

Lauren Peterson work is innately defined by process; working intuitively within controlled boundaries set by the method of mark-making and the material. She creates her mixed media pieces and drawings by repetitively sewing, knotting, or drawing into objects and surfaces to push boundaries of image/object and transient/permanent."
