Record of the Week: Ghost Knocks by Jungol
It's a rare band that gets better with every record, but Jungol have managed to stay relevant in the local scene longer than almost anyone by continuing to push the boundaries further with every effort. Their latest album, Ghost Knocks, is Jungol's most electronic release to date, as well as their most compelling. It's experimental yet accessible. it contains great pop songs as well as bold ambient soundscapes. At hardly a half an hour, Ghost Knocks is an epic journey and one of the best records that will come out of Atlanta this year. Stream the album below and then catch Jungol performing a very special set at Deer Bear Wolf's inaugural Natural Selection variety show this Thursday, July 17 at the Goat Farm.

Originally borne out of Andrew McFarland's cassette project (Semicircle EP in Jan. 2010, the band is now spearheaded by the efforts of Andrew and Ryan Engelberger.
