TERRA FLORA / Pam Rogers @ Swan Coach House Gallery
"The Swan Coach House Gallery and The Forward Arts Foundation are pleased to present Terra Flora, an exhibition by artist Pam Rogers, whose nature-based work is strongly influenced by Botanical Illustration, Art History and Anthropology. Paintings, drawings, sculpture and installation of botanic imagery are conceptually based on the deconstruction of relationships, events, and personal moments. In this examination of the relationships between people, plants, and place she strives to weave the strings of art and agriculture, myth and magic, and healing and hurting into an inquisitive organic whole."

The Eyedrum Art Committee selected the following group of artists from a pool of applicants: Brian Bannon and Bill Taft, Allison Rentz, Morgan Carlisle, Thomas Love, Tom Haney, Ed Woodham, Lauren Peterson and Nick Adams, Jae Matthews, Ashley Anderson, James Sanders, Zac Denton, Kris Pilcher and Crash Hottman. Places to Hide Concord America | Shampoo | Koko Beware @ 529
"PLACES TO HIDE: Last year’s debut from Atlanta’s Places To Hide was a quick, crisp half-hour of sturdy and studied punk. CONCORD AMERICA: Based out of Atlanta, Concord America is a trio consisting of brothers John and Vinny Restivo and friend Ben Presley. Claiming influences like Black Lips, Pixies and Cage The Elephant, the group formed around their mutual love for Rock & Roll but found their unique sound in areas ranging from classic Garage and late-50’s Doo-Wop all the way to Proto Grunge, Power-Pop and the modern Surf Revival. SHAMPOO: SHAMPOO is an Atlanta synthpop band named after the Chinese amazon warrior from Ranma 1/2, the A side on that Happy Birthday 7", and the translucent dream sludge you clean your hair with. They sort of sound like solo George Michael and the Congos songs where the high harmony dude sings lead. KOKO BEWARE: "I’m sick of sunshine and being happy. Stop it! Just stop!" -Vice Records"
